Lisa delights in creating beautiful spaces and truly considers herself to be on your team when it comes to working with clients. When a client asks Annapolis Interiors to help them modify their living or working spaces, Lisa dedicates herself to ensuring their desires are captured in a way that will enhance their quality of life. It’s a very personal process, as Lisa is involved in every step — from concept to installation. It just doesn’t get any better than seeing the transformation come to life and witnessing the sheer joy the end result brings!
Born into a military family, I travelled the world and lived in a variety of locations including the Philippines and England before settling in Annapolis, Maryland. These travels fostered my appreciation for how and where people live, and unearthed an interest in the manner in which culture is intertwined in a person’s lifestyle. Eventually, this appreciation developed into an infatuation with interior architecture and design, and fostered my desire to help people create functional spaces that are aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for their life or business style.
I’ve always been involved in an artistic venture, whether it was drawing, painting, or writing. After working for many years writing and designing for print media, I decided to switch careers to pursue my true passion and returned to school for a degree in Interior Design. In 2006, I established the Lisa Bagbey Interior Design Studio, which became Annapolis Interiors after the business relocated to the heart of historic downtown Annapolis. Because color selection plays a key role within every design scheme, I have researched and studied to also become a Certified Color Consultant with accreditation from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). This allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of current and upcoming design trends.
I am a proud mother of two and a professionally creative person who likes to work closely with local craftsmen in the Maryland area. My family and I enjoy living and boating on the Chesapeake Bay and being part of the community in Annapolis City. While my passion is Interior Design and working with my clients, I continue to enjoy writing and painting. I am a freelance writer for local magazines and news media. I also volunteer for several local organizations.
With a degree and many years of experience in Interior Design, Lisa attends on-going education each year to keep current on practices, procedures, and design trends. She is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), as well as being actively involved with the Board of Directors of the Maryland Chapter of ASID, having served as President, President Elect, and At-Large Director, to advocate and advance the Interior Design trade in the State of Maryland.
